2018 ASWA Poll 




The Alabama Sports Writers Association have released their rankings for this week.

ASWA High School Football Poll
Week 1 -- Aug. 29, 2018
Three top ranked teams lost over the weekend. Pinson Valley, Lanett and Autauge Academy all fell to higher classification teams. Sweet Water takes over the top spot in Class 1A for the first time since the 2011 preseason poll.
Wetumpka takes over for Pinson Valley and is ranked as the Number One team for the first time since 1996. Hokes Bluff is the #3 team in 4A. The last time they were this high was back in 1998. W.S. Neal (#6 in 4A) is also ranked as high as they have been in any season since 1998.
St. Clair County comes in as the #5 team in 5A. It is their highest ranking since 1997.
