2022 Weekly Predictions

Each week we will let you know how the Computer did and how many favorites won according to the AHSFHS Power Ratings.  The Power Ratings are based upon past performance early in the season and will better reflect a team's strength as the football season progresses.

Last week the AHSFHS.org Power Ratings struggled to accurately predict the outcome of the second round games. More than half the games had a spread of less than seven points which means they could go either way. Most of the games we missed on were contests where the loser was favored by less than seven points.

The biggest upset was Geraldine defeating Mars Hill after entering the game as a 25 point underdog. Last week Geraldine (+23) beat Winfield 24-8 so it is two weeks in a row they pulled off a major upset.

Once again we see a lot of games with point spreads under seven points. Those games could go wither way. Fourteen of the 29 games have a spread of one touchdown or less.
