Active Coaches with the Most Wins
The 2021 offseason saw many coaching changes that will affect schools for year to come. Bobby Carr with 250 victories left Autauga Academy for Mississippi. Josh Niblett departed Hoover with 236 wins for Gainesville GA. Other coaches stepped aside or retired with more than 100 victories in their careers. Tom Causey also left for Georgia after winning 146 games in Alabama most recently at Pelham. Tim Perry retired at Wetumpka (142), Jeff Pugh leaves East Limetsone with 126 wins. Gardner Gilliland leaves Cleveland with 111 victories after fourteen seasons. Steve Meek retires from Decatur Heritage Christian with 103 wins in sixteen seasons. Lastly, Melvin Pete Jr. moves on from Williamson with 103 victories in sixteen seasons as a head coach at several schools. That leaves us with the list below as we enter the 2022 season soon. Terry Curtis with 336 wins leads the way as three other coaches with at least 300 victories follow. |
