2023 ASWA Poll

Week PS -- Wednesday, August 9, 2023
The preseason ASWA polls are out today with all the reigning state champions retaining their respective spots at the top of each classification.

Coosa Christian is ranked as the #9 team in 1A and that is this is the first time the school has ever been ranked by the ASWA. Andalusia is the #1 team in 4A and that is the first time since the 2017 football season they are voted as the top ranked team.

B.B. Comer after finishing last season as the runner-up in 2A are ranked #2 in 2A and that is the highest they have been since the 1996 season. Lastly Meek at #5 in 1A is ranked there for the first time since 1988.

Murphy and Theodore battled through seven overtimes before the Panthers came out on top 33-26 in 1979.
