 High School Bio:

            Burg led Mountain Brook to two consecutive state tiles. Played quarterback on varsity for 3 years and was captain. Earned All-Independent, All-Metro, All-State, Super All-State. and Honorable Mention All-American. Completed 81 passes out of 148 for 1.300 yards and 14 touchdowns, and gained 715 yards rushing for 7 touchdowns. He was also a punter in high school.

Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Luverne 'Toad' Wise was the first female football player in Alabama and may have been the first in the country. She was a kicker for the Escambia County Blue Devils in 1939-40.
