Bay Minette and Atmore are about 23 miles apart and at one time the local high schools were considered powerhouses on the football field. The two teams have played against each other 90 times since an initial meeting back in 1920. The teams have fallen on tougher times in recent years but the fans still look forward to the annual meeting between the Tigers and Blue Devils. Baldwin County leads the series 49-37-4 that featured many great games over the years. The two met on the field every year since 1920 except 1943, 1998-99 and 2006-07. It is among the oldest rivalries in the state. The Super 6 State Championships began in 1996. Since then all title games were played at Legion Field in Birmingham until 2009.
