Game: Played November 29, 1968 at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery
Summary: Lowndes Academy rolled up a 42-7 halftime advantage and coasted the second half in a 67-27 victory
over a helpless Woodland team. Lowndes Academy has now won 66 of
its last 68 games. Dave Lyon, star quarterback for the Rebels,
would toss two touchdown passes of 19 and 20 yards while running
for two other scores.
David Wayne Hollingshead would get things
going for the Rebels on a 13 yard run and the point after run.
Lyon would get the next score on an 81 yard punt return with
8:56 remaining in the opening quarter. After the Bobcat's second
possession ended in an interception the Rebels would score in
four plays on another Hollingshead run.
The Rebels came right back on a 86 yard 5 play drive with
Lyons hitting Hollingshead on a 19 yard scoring pass for a 28-0

third quarter but it was too little and too late. Lowndes would
rack up 540 yards of total offense on the night.
