Game: Played Friday December 5, 1970 at Town Creek

Summary:

Hazlewood would use a powerful and speedy running attack and a relentless defense to claim their first ever state championship in 1970. Led by Thomas King at tailback the Golden Bears would seemingly score at will against the Indians defense.
King would get four of those touchdowns, one on a 35 yard screen pass from Anthony Muston and three others running the ball. Muston would throw two other scoring passes, one to Glen Jones good for 59 yards and the other a six yarder to Wayne Kerby. The Indians managed only two first downs the entire game with both coming in the second half and one of those on a penalty.
Ohatchee had endured five straight losing seasons before 1970 and this first ever trip to the championship game. This would also be the first of many journeys to the title game for the Golden Bears.
