Summary:

It was a battle of not only potent teams but one of former Crimson Tide teammates in coaches Tom Calvin and Doug Lockridge. This one would belong to the Valley Rams as they won a heart stopper over the Aggies of Sylacauga 23-16 in Fairfax. Junior running back Jerry Brown led the way for the Rams as he ran for 218 of Valley's 280 yard total, scored twice himself and intercepted two passes.
Brown rushed for 161 yards and caught two passes for another 57 yards. The Rams would open things up on their first possession with a 17 play 68 yard drive culminated by a Brown touchdown. Shepard would gain the next score on a five yard run after an interception for a quick 13-0 lead.
Valley would lead 20-8 at the half and hold on for the win. Randy Billingsley would lead the Aggies with 60 yards rushing on 14 carries and catch five passes for another 67 yards.
