Summary:
              
Oneonta won the Class 2A state championship by defeating Cordova 43-14. The Redskins were led by Ricky Sanders who scored on a six yard pass and ran for another score. Joe Jones also threw a touchdown pass to Jim Patton for Oneonta. Mark Hilt ran for a score, Johnny Lowery scored on a one yard plunge and John Murray recovered a blocked punt for the other Oneonta touchdown.
               Anthony Harris scored on a two yard run and a 95 yard kickoff return for Cordova.
