Summary: Oneonta won the Class 2A state
championship by defeating Cordova 43-14. The Redskins were led
by Ricky Sanders who scored on a six yard pass and ran for
another score. Joe Jones also threw a touchdown pass to Jim
Patton for Oneonta. Mark Hilt ran for a score, Johnny Lowery
scored on a one yard plunge and John Murray recovered a blocked
punt for the other Oneonta touchdown.
Anthony Harris scored on a
two yard run and a 95 yard kickoff return for Cordova.

The Tuscaloosa Black Bears were considered one of the best programs in the nation from 1925-1931. Their record over that span was an amazing 61-0-3.
