Summary:
            
Colbert County won their first state championship by defeating Cullman 41-14. The Indians were led by Phillip Gargis who completed 9 of 16 passes for 158 yards, ran for two touchdowns and threw a 70 yard pass for another. Frank Johnson and Jack King also scored for Colbert County.
             The Cullman touchdowns came on a one yard run by Steve Baswell and an eight yard pass from Jackie King to Tim Rooks.
