Summary:

Mountain Brook, led by the running of Major Ogilvie, won the Class 4A state championship for 1975 Saturday by defeating Dothan 29-23. Ogilvie ran for a total of 171 yards on 22 carries and scored a touchdown for the Spartans. The Tigers from Dothan took the early lead when Rem Miller kicked a 21 yard field goal in the first quarter.
The Spartans would come right back to score on an 80 yard drive in only six plays with Ogilvie getting the touchdown on an 8 yard run. Still in the first quarter, Spartan quarterback, Richard Berg would scored on a one yard run to give Mountain Brook a 14-3 lead. Dothan would score later when David Reeves picked off an errant pitchout and raced 25 yards for a touchdown.
This was Mountain Brook's first ever state title in their first playoff appearance. It was Dothan's second straight lose in the title game as they lost to Homewood last season in Birmingham.
