Summary:
             
Elmore County rushed for 378 yards on 50 carries to outpace Red Bay for the Class 2A state title. Ferrell Townsend ran 57 yards to the Red Bay three on their first play from scrimmage to set up the first score for Elmore County. Then when Red Bay cut the lead to 14-12 once again it was Townsend who ran 22 yards on a third and 17 play to set up Alvin Freemans 12 yard run for the clinching score.
             Townsend finished the game with 128 yards on only seven carries. Turner gained 81 yards on 7 carries and Leonard got 68 in eight. Freeman had 55 on 14 totes and Todd 39 in 12 tries.
             Red Bay's top carrier was Kennedy with 51 yards on 13 carries. The Championship game appearance was a first for the Tigers after losing in the semi-finals in their only other playoff chance in 1974. Elmore won their first ever state playoff championship.
