Summary:
       The Junior Tide capped off a perfect 14-0 season and extended a 32-game winning streak by defeating Reeltown 17-14 for their second consecutive state championship. Quarterback Danny Brock rushed for 143 yards on 16 carries, passed for 84 yards and another score to pace Millport.
       With Reeltown leading 14-7 in the third quarter they made a crucial mistake. After Reeltown intercepted a  pass from Brock on their own six yard line, running back Douglas Thomas was tackled in the end zone for a safety to pull Millport within five at 14-9. Millport got the ball on the ensuing kickoff with 6:46 remaining in the game and drove for the winning score.
       Millport took over on their own 41 after the kick. Brock scored from the one yard line with just 30 second remaining in the game on fourth down. The game was over a short time later and Millport won their second Class 2A crown.

Hazlewood won five consecutive state championships from 1988-1992. During this span the Golden Bears won 29 playoff games in a row.
