Game: Played Friday December 10, 1993 at Brantley Field, Brantley
Summary:
Brantley capped off the best season in Bulldog history with a perfect 15-0 record and their first state title.
After only a 6-0 halftime advantage, Brantley broke the game
open with two touchdowns and a field goal in a three minute span
in the third quarter. The Bulldogs recorded their ninth shutout
of the season as West Jefferson fumbled the game away.
Midway
through the third quarter West Jefferson fumbled at its 35 yard
line and Charlie Layton return the ball for the score. A few
plays later they again fumbled at their own 15 yard line setting
up a 10 yard touchdown run by Maurio Jones. On the ensuing
kickoff Jonathan Billups caused another fumble which set up a 26
yard field goal by Austin Cauley.

In 1970 Monroe Academy won the first championship in the A.I.S.A. by defeating Lowndes Academy 6-0.
