Game MVP:
Records: Central Tuscaloosa (13-1); Jeff Davis (12-2)
Coaches: Howard Busby, Central Tuscaloosa & Charles
Lee, Jeff Davis
Game: Played Saturday December 9, 1995 at Legion Field, Birmingham
Summary:
The Falcons of Central Tuscaloosa got their only score of the game on the first play of the fourth quarter
when Antoneyo Williams dove over the top for a one yard touchdown. The
extra point was good by Taylor Williams and the Falcons had their first state championship.
Williams score was set up by Marquince Winder's pass interception which was returned to the Jeff Davis 14 yard line.
Four plays later Central had the lead they never would give up. Both defenses were
on the top of their game on a cold and windy day at Legion Field. Jeff Davis only had five first downs on the day compared to the Falcons who ended the day with four.
The Vols only touchdown came in
the second quarter when running back Xavier Allen broke free on a run over the middle and ran 30 yards for the score.
The extra point attempt by Sam Cobb was wide to the left in the
swirling wind.
