Geraldine completed the 2017 season with a 4-7 record. With their 3-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 3A region seven, the Bulldogs earned a spot in the playoffs in 2017. Geraldine's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Piedmont by a score of 26-6. The Bulldogs lost as many games as in any season since 1996. Since 2010, Geraldine has gone a combined 50-39. Their 56.0% winning percentage ranks 27th in Class 3A over the past eight seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Geraldine has managed to compile a record of 145-115. Their 56.0% winning percentage ranks 21st in Class 3A and 133rd in the AHSAA. The Bulldogs are led by head coach Brad Waldrop who is entering his fourth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 15-18 over the past three seasons at Geraldine. Under his direction the Bulldogs have qualified for the playoffs a total of three times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Waldrop. Coach Waldrop's overall record as a head football coach in three season stands at 15-18 (45.5%). The Geraldine Bulldogs will play in Class 3A region seven during the 2018 season. The Bulldogs have one of the toughest schedules in Class 3A. Their opponents had a combined record of 65-48 last season. That ranks 4th in Class 3A and 53rd in the AHSAA. The Bulldogs will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region seven this season. They have qualified for the playoffs every year since 2006 and are hopeful to continue that streak in 2018. The Bulldogs open the 2018 season on the road against non-region opponent Crossville on Saturday, August 25 at Crossville Memorial Stadium. Last year the Crossville Lions finished with an overall record of 4-7 and in fourth place in Class 5A region seven. The Lions lost in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs to Briarwood by a score of 62-0. Geraldine and Crossville have met a total of 101 times on the football field. The Bulldogs have a 41-57-3 record against the Lions. They last met in 2017 with Geraldine winning by a score of 35-14. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
