Citronelle completed the 2017 season with a 5-5 record. Last year Citronelle just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 5A region one with a 3-3 region record. Since 2010, Citronelle has gone a combined 29-52. Their 36.0% winning percentage ranks 45th in Class 5A over the past eight seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Citronelle has managed to compile a record of 115-141. Their 45.0% winning percentage ranks 38th in Class 5A and 239th in the AHSAA. The Wildcats will be under the direction of new head football coach Jason Barnett as they enter the 2018 season. The Citronelle Wildcats will play in Class 5A region one during the 2018 season. With a little luck and some improvement, the Wildcats could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region one this season. Citronelle came up short of the playoffs last year but are optimistic of a return to the post season this year. The Wildcats open the 2018 season on the road against non-region opponent Washington County on Friday, August 24 at Jordan Wilcox Stadium. Last year the Washington County Bulldogs finished with an overall record of 3-6 and in fifth place in Class 2A region one. The Bulldogs closed out the regular season with a loss to Citronelle by a score of 44-12. Citronelle and Washington County have met a total of 52 times on the football field.
