 2018 Preview 


       Coosa Valley Academy finished the 2017 season with a disappointing 3-8 record.

       Since 2010, Coosa Valley Academy has gone a combined 30-57. Their 34.0% winning percentage ranks 10th in Class AA over the past eight seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Coosa Valley Academy has managed to compile a record of 91-155. Their 37.0% winning percentage ranks 11th in Class AA and 33rd in the AISA.




       The Rebels will be under the direction of new head football coach Jamie Scruggs as they enter the 2018 season.

       The Coosa Valley Academy Rebels will play in Class AA region one during the 2018 season.

       It will be an uphill battle for the Rebels if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region one this season.

       The Rebels open the 2018 season at home against non-region opponent Pickens Academy on Friday, August 24 at Don Greene/Rebels Stadium. Last year the Pickens Academy Pirates finished with an overall record of 6-4 and in fifth place in Class AA region two. The Pirates ended last season on a positive note with a win over Kingwood Christian by a score of 60-0 after failing to gain a playoff spot.

       Coosa Valley Academy and Pickens Academy have met a total of 7 times on the football field. The Rebels have a 1-6-0 record against the Pirates. They last met in 2017 with Pickens Academy winning by a score of 42-6.
