Cherokee County completed the 2021 season with a 7-4 record. With their 4-2 region record and a third place finish in Class 4A region four, the Warriors earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. Cherokee County reached the second round of the playoffs before falling to Vigor by a score of 34-0. Since 2010, Cherokee County has gone a combined 65-66. Their 49.6% winning percentage ranks 30th in Class 4A over the past twelve seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Cherokee County has managed to compile a record of 161-121. Their 57.0% winning percentage ranks 18th in Class 4A and 121st in the AHSAA. The Warriors are led by head coach Jacob Kelley who is entering his fourth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 20-12 over the past three seasons at Cherokee County. Under his direction the Warriors have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Kelley. Coach Kelley's overall record as a head football coach in three season stands at 20-12 (62.5%). The Cherokee County Warriors will play in Class 4A region six during the 2022 season. Following realignment, the Warriors remain in 4A but move from region four over to region six. The Warriors will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region six this season. The Warriors open the 2022 season on the road against non-region opponent Model GA on Friday, August 19. This will be the second meeting between Cherokee County and Model GA on the football field. The Warriors have a 1-0-0 record against Model GA. They last met in with Cherokee County returns 4A All-State sophomore defensive lineman Tae Diamond.
