 2022 Preview 


       Randolph completed the 2021 season with a 10-2 record. With their 6-1 region record and a second place finish in Class 4A region seven, the Raiders earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. Randolph reached the second round of the playoffs before falling to Brooks by a score of 42-21.

       No team at Randolph ever won more games in a season than the ten victories last year. The 428 points scored by the Raiders last year were a team record in a single season. The Raiders hope to continue the success they had last season. Coach Lloyd saw improvement as they won ten games following a 5-6 record in 2020.

       The defense was very stingy last season as Randolph ranked 33rd in the AHSAA. The defense allowed only 14.3 points a game.

       Since 2010, Randolph has gone a combined 58-69. Their 45.7% winning percentage ranks 38th in Class 4A over the past twelve seasons.

       Over the past 15 seasons, Randolph has managed to compile a record of 70-81. Their 46.0% winning percentage ranks 37th in Class 4A and 238th in the AHSAA.




       The Raiders are led by head coach David Lloyd who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 15-8 over the past two seasons at Randolph. Under his direction the Raiders have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Lloyd.

       Coach Lloyd's overall record as a head football coach in five season stands at 33-23 (58.9%). Over the course of his career, Coach Lloyd's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of four times .

       The Randolph Raiders will play in Class 4A region eight during the 2022 season. Following realignment, the Raiders remain in 4A but move from region seven over to region eight.

       Randolph enters the 2022 season with a string of 6 consecutive wins on their home field at SportsMed Field.

       The Raiders should be considered one of the favorites for the region eight championship this season and a home game in the first round of the playoffs.

       The Raiders open the 2022 season on the road against non-region opponent West Morgan on Friday, August 19 at Rebels Stadium. Last year the West Morgan Rebels finished with an overall record of 5-5 and in fifth place in Class 4A region eight.

       Randolph and West Morgan have met a total of 5 times on the football field. The Raiders have a 2-3-0 record against the Rebels. They last met in 2019 with Randolph winning by a score of 32-25.

       Randolph returns 4A All-State Senior quarterback Andrew Hunter. He was named to the honorable mention team last season. The Raiders also return Senior defensive back Conner Goodson. He was named to the second team. The Raiders also return Senior receiver Nic Strong. He was named to the second team.
