 2022 Preview 


       Cullman completed the 2021 season with a 7-4 record. With their 5-2 region record and a third place finish in Class 6A region eight, the Bearcats earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. Cullman's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Jackson-Olin by a score of 22-14.

       Since 2010, Cullman has gone a combined 82-54. Their 60.3% winning percentage ranks 21st in Class 6A over the past twelve seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Cullman has gone a combined 192-96. Their 67.0% winning percentage ranks 13th in Class 6A and 57th in the AHSAA. The Bearcats have been successful on the football field with twenty-four winning seasons during this time.




       The Bearcats are led by head coach Oscar Glasscock who is entering his fourth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 21-13 over the past three seasons at Cullman. Under his direction the Bearcats have qualified for the playoffs a total of three times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Glasscock.

       Coach Glasscock's overall record as a head football coach in four season stands at 22-22 (50.0%). Over the course of his career, Coach Glasscock's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of three times .

       The Cullman Bearcats will play in Class 6A region seven during the 2022 season. Following realignment, the Bearcats remain in 6A but move from region eight over to region seven.

       The Bearcats should be in contention for a playoff spot in region seven this season. They will be looking to gain an advantage by hosting a first round postseason game.

       The Bearcats open the 2022 season on the road against non-region opponent Mars Hill on Friday, August 19 at Mars Hill Stadium. Last year the Mars Hill Panthers finished with an overall record of 10-4 and in first place in Class 2A region eight. The Panthers lost in the semi-finals round of the Class 2A playoffs to Cleveland by a score of 21-14.

       Cullman and Mars Hill have met a total of 4 times on the football field. The Bearcats have a 2-2-0 record against the Panthers. They last met in 2021 with Cullman winning by a score of 49-7.
