East Limestone completed the 2021 season with a 5-6 record. With their 5-1 region record and a second place finish in Class 5A region eight, the Indians earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. East Limestone's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Center Point by a score of 66-36. Since 2010, East Limestone has gone a combined 69-59. Their 53.9% winning percentage ranks 20th in Class 5A over the past twelve seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, East Limestone has managed to compile a record of 153-121. Their 56.0% winning percentage ranks 18th in Class 5A and 130th in the AHSAA. The Indians will be under the direction of new head football coach Clint Woodfin as they enter the 2022 season. Coach Woodfin was the offensive coordinator at James Madison last season. Coach Woodfin's overall record as a head football coach in two season stands at 4-16 (20.0%). The East Limestone Indians will play in Class 5A region eight during the 2022 season. The Indians should be in contention for a playoff spot in region eight this season. They will be looking to gain an advantage by hosting a first round postseason game. The Indians open the 2022 season on the road against non-region opponent Athens on Saturday, August 20 at Golden Eagle Stadium. Last year the Athens Golden Eagles finished with an overall record of 4-6 and in fifth place in Class 6A region eight. East Limestone and Athens have met a total of 16 times on the football field.
