LaFayette completed the 2021 season with a 7-4 record. With their 5-2 region record and a third place finish in Class 2A region four, the Bulldogs earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. LaFayette's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Ariton by a score of 48-20. Since 2010, LaFayette has gone a combined 68-62. Their 52.3% winning percentage ranks 23rd in Class 2A over the past twelve seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, LaFayette has managed to compile a record of 135-129. Their 51.0% winning percentage ranks 21st in Class 2A and 180th in the AHSAA. The Bulldogs are led by head coach Juan Williams who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 12-9 over the past two seasons at LaFayette. Under his direction the Bulldogs have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Williams. Coach Williams' overall record as a head football coach in sixteen season stands at 68-97 (41.2%). Over the course of his career, Coach Williams' teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of five times and won one region championship. The LaFayette Bulldogs will play in Class 2A region three during the 2022 season. Following realignment, the Bulldogs remain in 2A but move from region four over to region three. The Bulldogs will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region three this season. They have qualified for the playoffs every year since 2014 and are hopeful to continue that streak in 2022. The Bulldogs open the 2022 season on a neutral field against non-region opponent Loachapoka on Saturday, August 20 at . Last year the Loachapoka Indians finished with an overall record of 6-4 and in third place in Class 1A region four. The Indians lost in the first round of the Class 1A playoffs to Millry by a score of 28-18. LaFayette and Loachapoka have met a total of 23 times on the football field.
