2022 Preview | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Minor finished the 2021 season with a disappointing 2-7 record. Last year Minor just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 6A region six with a 1-5 region record. Minor struggled on the defensive side of the football last year. The defense found little success in stopping opposing offenses as they gave up an average of 35.7 points a game. Since 2010, Minor has gone a combined 68-61. Their 52.7% winning percentage ranks 29th in Class 6A over the past twelve seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Minor has managed to compile a record of 160-118. Their 58.0% winning percentage ranks 25th in Class 6A and 106th in the AHSAA. The Tigers are led by head coach Adrian Abrams who is entering his fifth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 18-23 over the past four seasons at Minor. Under his direction the Tigers have qualified for the playoffs a total of three times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Abrams. Coach Abrams' overall record as a head football coach in four season stands at 18-23 (43.9%). The Minor Tigers will play in Class 6A region five during the 2022 season. Following realignment, the Tigers remain in 6A but move from region six over to region five. It will be an uphill battle for the Tigers if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region five this season. After just 2 wins last year, Minor will be hoping to become more competitive in the region. The Tigers open the 2022 season at home against non-region opponent Huffman on Friday, August 19 at Minor Stadium. Last year the Huffman Vikings finished with an overall record of 2-8 and in sixth place in Class 6A region five. Minor and Huffman have met a total of 9 times on the football field. The Tigers have a 7-2-0 record against the Vikings. They last met in 2005 with Huffman winning by a score of 21-20. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
