Florence completed the 2021 season with a 5-6 record. With their 5-2 region record and a third place finish in Class 7A region four, the Falcons earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. Florence's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Thompson by a score of 49-10. Since 2010, Florence has gone a combined 70-63. Their 52.6% winning percentage ranks 16th in Class 7A over the past twelve seasons. Over the past 18 seasons, Florence has managed to compile a record of 107-91. Their 54.0% winning percentage ranks 16th in Class 7A and 145th in the AHSAA. The Falcons will be under the direction of new head football coach Kenny Morson as they enter the 2022 season. Coach Morson comes to Florence after serving as the head football coach at Fayetteville (Tn) last season. The Florence Falcons will play in Class 7A region four during the 2022 season. The Falcons should be in contention for a playoff spot in region four this season. They will be looking to gain an advantage by hosting a first round postseason game. The Falcons open the 2022 season at home against non-region opponent Pinson Valley on Friday, August 19 at Braly Municipal Stadium. Last year the Pinson Valley Indians finished with an overall record of 9-4 and in third place in Class 6A region six. The Indians lost in the quarter-finals round of the Class 6A playoffs to Mountain Brook by a score of 30-0. Florence and Pinson Valley have met a total of 3 times on the football field. The Falcons have a 1-2-0 record against the Indians. They last met in 2017 with Pinson Valley winning by a score of 45-20. Florence returns 7A All-State defensive back Jahlil Hurley.
