2022 Preview | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
St. Luke's finished the 2021 season with a disappointing 1-9 record. Last year St. Luke's finished sixth in Class 2A region one with a 0-6 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. The defense was very stingy last season as St. Lukes ranked 26th in the AHSAA. The defense allowed only 13.7 points a game. Since 2010, St. Luke's has gone a combined 58-68. Their 46.0% winning percentage ranks 32nd in Class 2A over the past twelve seasons. Over the past 12 seasons, St. Luke's has managed to compile a record of 58-68. Their 46.0% winning percentage ranks 31st in Class 2A and 235th in the AHSAA. The Wildcats are led by head coach Ronn Lee who is entering his eighth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 32-43 over the past seven seasons at St. Luke's. Under his direction the Wildcats have qualified for the playoffs a total of three times. They have won two region crowns with Coach Lee. Coach Lee's overall record as a head football coach in twenty-seven season stands at 128-162 (44.1%). His 128 wins rank 41st among active coaches in the AHSAA. Over the course of his career, Coach Lee's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of twelve times and won three region championships. Look for the Wildcats to open up the offense this year and spread the field more than they have the past few seasons. The Wildcats forfeited four games last season after a promising start to the season. They hope to bounce back from that disappointment in 2022. St. Lukes returns just eleven players to this years squad from last season. The St. Luke's Wildcats will play in Class 2A region one during the 2022 season. This season, the Wildcats will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in region one. The Wildcats open the 2022 season on the road against non-region opponent Flomaton on Friday, August 19 at Hurricane Field. Last year the Flomaton Hurricanes finished with an overall record of 6-4 and in fourth place in Class 3A region one. The Hurricanes lost in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs to Montgomery Academy by a score of 35-7. St. Luke's and Flomaton have met a total of 3 times on the football field. The Wildcats have a 0-3-0 record against the Hurricanes. They last met in 2015 with Flomaton winning by a score of 33-28. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
