White Plains finished the 2021 season with a disappointing 3-7 record. Last year White Plains finished seventh in Class 4A region four with a 0-6 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. The Wildcats have not qualified for the playoffs since the 1994 season and would love to end that streak this year. They have never won a playoff game in the school's history. White Plains was inconsistent offensively last year and they need some improvement if the Wildcats want to be competitive. They only averaged 17.4 points a game. Since 2010, the White Plains football program has struggled with a record of 32-88. Over the past 25 seasons, White Plains has not won much with a record of 79-171. Their 32.0% winning percentage ranks 50th in Class 4A and 343rd in the AHSAA. The Wildcats are led by head coach Chandler Tyree who is entering his fourth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 10-20 over the past three seasons at White Plains. The Wildcats have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Tyree. Coach Tyree's overall record as a head football coach in three season stands at 10-20 (33.3%). The White Plains Wildcats will play in Class 4A region four during the 2022 season. This season, the Wildcats will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in region four. The Wildcats open the 2022 season at home against non-region opponent Ranburne on Friday, August 19 at Robertson Field. Last year the Ranburne Bulldogs finished with an overall record of 6-5 and in fourth place in Class 2A region four. The Bulldogs lost in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs to Elba by a score of 55-28. White Plains and Ranburne have met a total of 26 times on the football field.
