Carver finished the 2021 season with a disappointing 1-9 record. Last year Carver finished sixth in Class 5A region five with a 1-6 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. The Rams last playoff victory came during the 1984 season. They would love to break through this year with a post season win. Carver was inconsistent offensively last year and they need some improvement if the Rams want to be competitive. They only averaged 14.7 points a game. Since 2010, Carver has gone a combined 37-84. Their 30.6% winning percentage ranks 47th in Class 5A over the past twelve seasons. Over the past 23 seasons, Carver has not won much with a record of 62-171. Their 27.0% winning percentage ranks 54th in Class 5A and 361st in the AHSAA. The Rams will be under the direction of new head football coach Rod Carson as they enter the 2022 season. Coach Carson was the offensive coordinator in Beaumont TX last season. Coach Carson's overall record as a head football coach in six season stands at 26-35 (42.6%). The Carver Rams will play in Class 5A region five during the 2022 season. This season, the Rams will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in region five. The Rams open the 2022 season at home against non-region opponent Midfield on Friday, August 19 at Carver High School Stadium. Last year the Midfield Patriots finished with an overall record of 9-3 and in first place in Class 2A region five. The Patriots lost in the second round of the Class 2A playoffs to Cleveland by a score of 61-46. Carver and Midfield have met a total of 4 times on the football field.
