 2022 Preview 


       Park Crossing finished the 2021 season with a disappointing 2-8 record. Last year Park Crossing finished seventh in Class 6A region two with a 2-5 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.

       The offense struggled putting points on the score board as Park Crossing averaged scoring just 6.2 points a game.

      

       Park Crossing is a relatively new football program having fielded a team only eight seasons. They have managed a record of 55-36 over the past eight years.




       The Thunderbirds will be under the direction of new head football coach Ty Lockett as they enter the 2022 season.  Coach Lockett served as the defensive coordinator at Grayson High School in Georgia last season.

       The Park Crossing Thunderbirds will play in Class 6A region two during the 2022 season.

       It will be an uphill battle for the Thunderbirds if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region two this season. After just 2 wins last year, Park Crossing will be hoping to become more competitive in the region.

       The Thunderbirds open the 2022 season on the road against non-region opponent Greenville on Friday, August 26 at Tiger Stadium. Last year the Greenville Tigers finished with an overall record of 8-4 and in second place in Class 5A region two. The Tigers lost in the second round of the Class 5A playoffs to UMS-Wright by a score of 14-12.

       Park Crossing and Greenville have met a total of 3 times on the football field. The Thunderbirds have a 1-2-0 record against the Tigers. They last met in with
