Samson completed the 2021 season with a 7-4 record. With their 5-2 region record and a third place finish in Class 1A region one, the Tigers earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. The Bulldogs lost in the second round of the Class 1A playoffs to Sweet Water by a score of 54-7. Samson and Kinston have met a total of 43 times on the football field.
