Bob Jones completed the 2022 season with a 5-6 record. With their 4-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 7A region four, the Patriots earned a spot in the playoffs in 2022. Bob Jones's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Hoover by a score of 45-19. The Patriots open the 2023 season on the road against non-region opponent Muscle Shoals on Thursday, August 24 at J.F. Moore Stadium. Last year the Muscle Shoals Trojans finished with an overall record of 11-2 and in second place in Class 6A region seven. The Trojans lost in the semi-finals round of the Class 6A playoffs to Mountain Brook by a score of 28-7. Bob Jones and Muscle Shoals have met a total of 5 times on the football field. The Patriots have a 1-4-0 record against the Trojans. They last met in 2022 with Muscle Shoals winning by a score of 31-7. Bob Jones lost 7A All-State offensive lineman Maddox Sunderman to graduation. He was named to the first team last season.
