 2023 Preview 


       Lauderdale County completed the 2022 season with a 7-5 record. With their 5-1 region record and a second place finish in Class 3A region eight, the Tigers earned a spot in the playoffs in 2022. Lauderdale County reached the second round of the playoffs before falling to Gordo by a score of 44-14.

       Since 2010, Lauderdale County has gone a combined 111-46. Their 70.7% winning percentage ranks 5th in Class 3A over the past thirteen seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Lauderdale County has managed to compile a record of 170-117. Their 59.0% winning percentage ranks 16th in Class 3A and 97th in the AHSAA.




       The Tigers are led by head coach Jeff Mason who is entering his eighth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 51-30 over the past seven seasons at Lauderdale County. Under his direction the Tigers have qualified for the playoffs a total of seven times. They have won two region crowns with Coach Mason.

       The Tigers have a good shot at one of the last two playoff slots in region eight this season. They have qualified for the playoffs every year since 2009 and are hopeful to continue that streak in 2023.

       The Tigers open the 2023 season at home against non-region opponent Tanner on Thursday, August 24 at Robert Earl Grisham Stadium. Last year the Tanner Rattlers finished with an overall record of 4-5 and in sixth place in Class 2A region eight.

       Lauderdale County and Tanner have met a total of 29 times on the football field. The Tigers have a 21-7-1 record against the Rattlers. They last met in 2022 with Lauderdale County winning by a score of 54-30.

       Lauderdale County lost 3A All-State  offensive lineman Hunter Davis to graduation. He was named to the second team last season.
