Chilton County completed the 2022 season with a 4-6 record. Last year Chilton County finished seventh in Class 6A region three with a 0-6 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. Since 2010, Chilton County has gone a combined 51-84. Their 37.8% winning percentage ranks 46th in Class 6A over the past thirteen seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Chilton County has managed to compile a record of 97-163. Their 37.0% winning percentage ranks 48th in Class 6A and 310th in the AHSAA. The Tigers are led by head coach Marvin Morton who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 4-6 record in his first season at Chilton County. The Tigers saw improvement from a 3-7 record the season before coach Morton arrived. The Tigers have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Morton. Over the course of his career, Coach Morton's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of one time . The Tigers could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region three this season with a few breaks and a little improvement. Chilton County has failed to qualify for the playoffs since 2019 but hope to return to the post season this year. Demarcus Riddick will lead the defense this season after collecting 109 total tackles and seven sacks last season. The Tigers open the 2023 season at home against non-region opponent Bibb County on Friday, August 25 at Tiger Stadium. Last year the Bibb County Choctaws finished with an overall record of 7-4 and in second place in Class 4A region three. The Choctaws lost in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs to Jacksonville by a score of 35-28. Chilton County and Bibb County have met a total of 75 times on the football field. The Tigers have a 34-38-3 record against the Choctaws. They last met in 2022 with Chilton County winning by a score of 30-24. Chilton County lost 6A All-State running back Rashard Childers to graduation. He was named to the honorable mention team last season.
