2024 Preview | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Cullman completed the 2023 season with a 5-6 record. With their 2-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 6A region seven, the Bearcats earned a spot in the playoffs in 2023. Cullman's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Clay-Chalkville by a score of 49-7. Cullman took a step backwards last year with their first losing season since 2018. Since 2010, Cullman has gone a combined 94-64. Their 59.5% winning percentage ranks 17th in Class 6A over the past fourteen seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Cullman has managed to compile a record of 191-98. Their 66.0% winning percentage ranks 11th in Class 6A and 58th in the AHSAA. The Bearcats have been successful on the football field with twenty-three winning seasons during this time. Graduated All-State Players: Cullman lost 6A All-State defensive back Jackson Sessions to graduation. He was named to the second team last season. Head Coach: The Bearcats are led by head coach Danny Stiff who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 5-6 record in his first season at Cullman. Under his direction the Bearcats have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Stiff. Season Outlook: The Cullman Bearcats will play in Class 6A region seven during the 2024 season. The Bearcats finished last year with a 5-6 record, only their second losing season since 1996. Coach Stiff hopes to turn that around in 2024 in his second season at the helm in Cullman. The Bearcats did make the playoffs thanks to an early season win over Decatur. This year Region 7 adds Jasper to the mix after they moved up from 5A with the AHSAA realignment. The Bearcats have a good shot at one of the last two playoff slots in region seven this season. Season Opener: The Bearcats open the 2024 season on the road against non-region opponent Bob Jones on Thursday, August 22 at Madison City Schools Stadium. Last year the Bob Jones Patriots finished with an overall record of 5-6 and in third place in Class 7A region four. The Patriots lost in the first round of the Class 7A playoffs to Hewitt-Trussville by a score of 56-14. This will be the second meeting between Cullman and Bob Jones on the football field. The Bearcats have a 0-1-0 record against the Patriots. They last met in with | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
