 2024 Preview 


       Brewer completed the 2023 season with a 4-6 record. Last year Brewer just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 5A region eight with a 2-4 region record.

       The Patriots have never won a playoff game in the school's history. They would like to break through and pick up that first post season victory in 2024.

       Since 2010, the Brewer football program has struggled with a record of 37-104.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Brewer has not won much with a record of 62-190. Their 25.0% winning percentage ranks 56th in Class 5A and 369th in the AHSAA. The Patriots have struggled on the football field with only two winning seasons during this time.

Head Coach:
       The Patriots are led by head coach Matt Plunkett who is entering his fourth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 11-20 over the past three seasons at Brewer. Under his direction the Patriots have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Plunkett. Over the course of his career, Coach Plunkett's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of six times .

Season Outlook:

       The Brewer Patriots will play in Class 5A region eight during the 2024 season.

      

       The Brewer Patriots finished fifth last season just missing out on the playoffs with a late season loss to West Point. The Patriots have never won a playoff game in their history and have only qualified for the post season a total of six times. Could this be the year they break though and get that first playoff win? It is possible.

    The Patriots will need to win a few more games this fall if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region eight this season.

Season Opener:
       The Patriots open the 2024 season on the road against non-region opponent Hayden on Friday, August 23 at Robert W. Reid Stadium. Last year the Hayden Wildcats finished with an overall record of 2-8 and in seventh place in Class 5A region five. The Wildcats closed out the regular season with a loss to Corner by a score of 41-13.

       Brewer and Hayden have met a total of 7 times on the football field. The Patriots have a 2-5-0 record against the Wildcats. They last met in 2011 with Hayden winning by a score of 49-12.
