 2024 Preview 


       Hayden finished the 2023 season with a disappointing 2-8 record. Last year Hayden finished seventh in Class 5A region five with a 1-6 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.

       The offense struggled putting points on the score board as Hayden averaged scoring just 10.6 points a game.

       Since 2010, Hayden has gone a combined 55-90. Their 37.9% winning percentage ranks 41st in Class 5A over the past fourteen seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Hayden has managed to compile a record of 91-166. Their 35.0% winning percentage ranks 49th in Class 5A and 316th in the AHSAA.

Head Coach:
       The Wildcats are led by head coach Keith Register who is entering his twelveth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 43-72 over the past eleven seasons at Hayden. Under his direction the Wildcats have qualified for the playoffs a total of four times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Register. Over the course of his career, Coach Register's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of nine times .

       If Hayden can win ten games this season, Coach Register will reach the 100 win milestone.

Season Outlook:

       The Hayden Wildcats will play in Class 5A region five during the 2024 season.

      

       The Wildcats have not reached the playoffs since the 2020 football season and finished 2-8 last year.

    This season, the Wildcats will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in region five.

Season Opener:
       The Wildcats open the 2024 season at home against non-region opponent Brewer on Friday, August 23 at Robert W. Reid Stadium. Last year the Brewer Patriots finished with an overall record of 4-6 and in fifth place in Class 5A region eight. The Patriots ended last season on a positive note with a win over Danville by a score of 56-14 after failing to gain a playoff spot.

       Hayden and Brewer have met a total of 7 times on the football field. The Wildcats have a 5-2-0 record against the Patriots. They last met in 2011 with Hayden winning by a score of 49-12.
