 2024 Preview 


       Demopolis completed the 2023 season with a 10-3 record. Last year Demopolis captured the region three title and a number one seed in the Class 5A playoffs. They finished region play with a 5-0 record. Demopolis lost in the quarter-finals of the playoffs last season to a good Eufaula team by a score of 20-17.

       Since 2010, Demopolis has gone a combined 121-47. Their 72.0% winning percentage ranks 5th in Class 5A over the past fourteen seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Demopolis has finished a combined 232-75. Their 76.0% winning percentage ranks 3rd in Class 5A and 13th in the AHSAA. The Tigers have been successful on the football field with twenty-five winning seasons during this time. Their last losing season was 1994.

Graduated All-State Players:
       Demopolis lost 5A All-State  receiver Dalyn Jackson to graduation. He was named to the first team last season.

Head Coach:
       The Tigers are led by head coach Lance Tucker who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 10-3 record in his first season at Demopolis. Under his direction the Tigers have qualified for the playoffs once. They have won one region crown with Coach Tucker. The win total includes 86 wins in Alabama and 33 victories from outside the state. Over the course of his career, Coach Tucker's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of nine times and won six region championships.

Season Outlook:

       The Demopolis Tigers will play in Class 5A region three during the 2024 season.

      

       The Tigers enter the 2024 season riding a 5 game regular season winning streak.

       The Tigers open the 2024 season with a streak of 29 consecutive winning seasons on the line. That streak appears to be safe at least for the upcoming football season.

       The Tigers have also qualified for the playoffs in each of the past 28 football seasons. That streak also seems to be safe for another year in Demopolis.

    The Tigers are considered one of the favorites for the region three championship this season and a home game in the first round of the playoffs. The Tigers have successfully qualified for the playoffs every year since 1995 and expect to be included again when November rolls around.

Season Opener:
       The Tigers open the 2024 season at home against non-region opponent Mountain Brook on Friday, August 23 at Tiger Stadium. Last year the Mountain Brook Spartans finished with an overall record of 8-4 and in second place in Class 6A region five. The Spartans lost in the second round of the Class 6A playoffs to Clay-Chalkville by a score of 17-13.

       This will be the second meeting between Demopolis and Mountain Brook on the football field. The Tigers have a 0-1-0 record against the Spartans. They last met in with
