 2024 Preview 


       McIntosh finished the 2023 season with a disappointing 2-7 record. Last year McIntosh just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 1A region one with a 2-4 region record.

       McIntosh was inconsistent offensively last year and they need some improvement if the Demons want to be competitive. They only averaged 17.3 points a game.

       Since 2010, McIntosh has gone a combined 43-95. Their 31.2% winning percentage ranks 47th in Class 1A over the past fourteen seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, McIntosh has not won much with a record of 83-167. Their 33.0% winning percentage ranks 45th in Class 1A and 329th in the AHSAA.

Head Coach:
       The Demons are led by head coach Roosevelt Moore who is entering his fifth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 11-22 over the past four seasons at McIntosh. The Demons have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Moore.

Season Outlook:

       The McIntosh Demons will play in Class 1A region one during the 2024 season.

      

       The Demons have not qualified for the playoffs since 2012 when they finished 8-6. They also have had only one winning season since that time. Can the Demons get back to the post season after finishing fifth in each of the past four seasons?

    The Demons could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region one this season with a few breaks and a little improvement. McIntosh has failed to qualify for the playoffs since 2012 but hope to return to the post season this year.

Season Opener:
       The Demons open the 2024 season on the road against non-region opponent Satsuma on Friday, August 23 at Copeland Field. Last year the Satsuma Gators finished with an overall record of 5-5 and in sixth place in Class 4A region one. The Gators ended last season on a positive note with a win over Chickasaw by a score of 47-32 after failing to gain a playoff spot.

       McIntosh and Satsuma have met a total of 2 times on the football field. The Demons have a 0-2-0 record against the Gators. They last met in 2023 with Satsuma winning by a score of 26-6.

Foley outscored their opponents 433-6 in 1961. The Lions were named state champions by the Alabama Sports Writers Association that season.
