 2024 Preview 


       Prattville Christian completed the 2023 season with a 5-5 record. Last year Prattville Christian just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 3A region three with a 2-4 region record.

       The Panthers have never won a playoff game in the school's history. They would like to break through and pick up that first post season victory in 2024.

       Since 2010, Prattville Christian has gone a combined 50-97. Their 34.0% winning percentage ranks 51st in Class 3A over the past fourteen seasons.

       Over the past 18 seasons, Prattville Christian has not won much with a record of 60-129. Their 32.0% winning percentage ranks 54th in Class 3A and 344th in the AHSAA. The Panthers have struggled on the football field with only four winning seasons during this time.

Head Coach:
       The Panthers are led by head coach Norman Dean who is entering his fourth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 13-17 over the past three seasons at Prattville Christian. The Panthers have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Dean. Over the course of his career, Coach Dean's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of five times and won one region championship.

       If Prattville Christian can win nine games this season, Coach Dean will reach the 100 win milestone.

Season Outlook:

       The Prattville Christian Panthers will play in Class 3A region two during the 2024 season. Following realignment, the Panthers remain in 3A but move from region three over to region two.

      

       Top priority this fall will be to find a replacement for graduated starting quarterback Tanner Byrd and the 1,895 yards he threw for last season. The Panthers will also open the 2024 football season without the services of running back Matthew Post who graduated in the spring along with the 1,036 yards and 8 touchdowns he scored last year.

       The Panthers move to region 2 this year with realignment along with two other schools who moved down from 4A. Grabbing one of the coveted playoffs spots could be even more difficult the next two seasons for the panthers. They have not gotten into the playoffs since the 2017 season.

    The Panthers have a good shot at one of the last two playoff slots in region two this season. Prattville Christian has failed to qualify for the playoffs since 2017 but hope to return to the post season this year.

Players to Watch in 2024:
      WR Conner Williams will be returning for his senior season after catching 38 passes for 586 yards and 6 touchdowns.

Season Opener:
       The Panthers open the 2024 season on the road against non-region opponent Autaugaville on Friday, August 23 at Eagles Nest Stadium. Last year the Autaugaville Eagles finished with an overall record of 3-7 and in seventh place in Class 1A region four. The Eagles closed out the regular season with a loss to Central Coosa by a score of 58-34.

       This will be the second meeting between Prattville Christian and Autaugaville on the football field. The Panthers have a 1-0-0 record against the Eagles. They last met in with
