2024 Preview | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
R.C. Hatch finished the 2023 season with a disappointing 1-9 record. Last year R.C. Hatch finished sixth in Class 1A region three with a 0-5 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. The Bobcats lost as many games as in any season since 2013. The Bobcats have never won a playoff game in the school's history. They would like to break through and pick up that first post season victory in 2024. R.C. Hatch was inconsistent offensively last year and they need some improvement if the Bobcats want to be competitive. They only averaged 16.2 points a game. Since 2010, R.C. Hatch has gone a combined 42-98. Their 30.0% winning percentage ranks 49th in Class 1A over the past fourteen seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, R.C. Hatch has not won much with a record of 51-187. Their 21.0% winning percentage ranks 58th in Class 1A and 382nd in the AHSAA. The Bobcats have struggled on the football field with only two winning seasons during this time. Head Coach: The Bobcats are led by head coach Eugene Foster who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 1-9 record in his first season at R.C. Hatch. The Bobcats have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Foster. Season Outlook: The R.C. Hatch Bobcats will play in Class 1A region three during the 2024 season. The Bobcats took a small step backwards last year dropping to 1-9 after two straight years where they made the playoffs. Can second year head coach Eugene Foster get the Bobcats back in the playoffs in 2024 will be the big question at R.C. Hatch. This season, the Bobcats will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in region three. Season Opener: The Bobcats open the 2024 season at home against non-region opponent Holt on Friday, August 23 at Bobcat Stadium. Last year the Holt Ironmen finished with an overall record of 1-9 and in seventh place in Class 4A region three. The Ironmen closed out the regular season with a loss to Tuscaloosa Academy by a score of 39-16. This will be the second meeting between R.C. Hatch and Holt on the football field. The Bobcats have a 0-1-0 record against the Ironmen. They last met in with | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
