 2024 Preview

T.R. Miller completed the 2023 season with a 8-4 record. With their 5-2 region record and a second place finish in Class 4A region one, the Tigers earned a spot in the playoffs in 2023. T.R. Miller reached the second round of the playoffs before falling to Catholic Montgomery by a score of 24-14.

Since 2010, T.R. Miller has gone a combined 124-45. Their 73.4% winning percentage ranks 4th in Class 3A over the past fourteen seasons.

Over the past 25 seasons, T.R. Miller has finished a combined 241-72. Their 77.0% winning percentage ranks 2nd in Class 3A and 8th in the AHSAA. The Tigers have been successful on the football field with twenty-four winning seasons during this time. Their last losing season was 2007.

Graduated All-State Players:
T.R. Miller lost 4A All-State  defensive back Christopher Williams to graduation. He was named to the first team last season. Also graduating was teammate athlete Takyi Askew.

Head Coach:
The Tigers are led by head coach Brent Hubbert who is entering his sixth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 46-17 over the past five seasons at T.R. Miller. Under his direction the Tigers have qualified for the playoffs a total of five times. They have won three region crowns with Coach Hubbert. His 229 wins rank 14th among active coaches in the AHSAA. Over the course of his career, Coach Hubbert's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of twenty-two times and won thirteen region championships. He has a 45-19 record in the playoffs during his career. The playoff victories rank with the best among active coaches. Coach Hubbert won three state championships prior to arriving at T.R. Miller, the last coming in 2016 at Maplesville.

Season Outlook:

The T.R. Miller Tigers will play in Class 3A region one during the 2024 season. The Tigers may find the schedule slightly easier this season with the move down in classification from Class 4A to 3A. They will compete in region one this year.

The list of accomplishments for the Tigers from Brewton can go on endlessly it seems. They are one of the winningest programs in state history. They have made the playoffs every year since 1984 except one. They have won 95 playoff games and six state championships.

They have a string of sixteen consecutive winning seasons going. After two seasons in 4A they will drop back down to 3A in 2024. They will still be in the hunt for a region championship with Bayside and Flomaton.

The Tigers return ten starters from last season on offense and five to the defense in 2024. Last year the Tigers put up 360 points on offense and with more experience returning they should be able to get on the scoreboard even more as the season progresses.

Coach Hubbert said ''Dropping to 3A but still in a gauntlet, will be mentally taxing to get up for that many rivalry games.''

The Tigers are considered one of the favorites for the region one championship this season and a home game in the first round of the playoffs. The Tigers have successfully qualified for the playoffs every year since 2017 and expect to be included again when November rolls around.

Last year the Reeltown Rebels finished with an overall record of 13-1 and in first place in Class 2A region three. The Rebels lost in the Class 2A State Championship game last season when they were defeated by Fyffe. They final score was 43-24 in the Super Seven finals in Birmingham.

This will be the second meeting between T.R. Miller and Reeltown on the football field. The Tigers have a 1-0-0 record against the Rebels. They last met in with
