Well, Jacksonville is 9-2, with their only losses coming to Oxford and Handley, so I wouldn't call them overrated but that is just my opinion.

What Sloth said. Also to add, QB Ogle is the #2 QB in 4A & #6 overall in the state (through all classifications). What podcast did you hear this from?

Yet the power rankings they have they are ahead of Handley who beat them. Handley also has multiple championships and beat Jacksonville last year as well.
There best win is against a 6 win Anniston yet Somehow they get overrated.
Look like they are a two point favorite over Bibb County who the #3 the in 3A and 4 teams with 6 wins or more.
Bibb County only loss was to #1 Andalusia at the time.
Ywt Jacksonville seems to get the benefit of the doubt.

It doesn't matter who they have.Handley beat them so did Oxford.
The only 2 great teams they have lost to. Yet they are ahead of Handley in the power rankings.

Well, Jacksonville will get the chance to prove their worth on Friday against Bibb County. If they lose, they go home. I am leaning toward Jacksonville in that game. But I think it will be a close game.

I agree I lean towards Jacksonville but i just wondered why they rated them so high without actually proving it on the field.

I wouldn't get too caught up in the power ratings. They usually seem to be pretty accurate, but it's a based on an algorithm. So something in that algorithm and the way Jacksonville has performed is giving them that boost. There's not a group of people sitting around voting on the power ratings like the ASWA sportswriters poll.

For what it's worth, I think that's one of the most even matchups of the week. But that's not because Jacksonville is overrated. It's true they haven't beaten many good teams, but they did take Handley down to the wire, and Handley is one of the best programs in 4A. So part of the assumption is that because they played Handley close, they must be a pretty good team.

I just think Bibb County is underrated. If they were in the North bracket they'd have been one of my favorites to reach the championship game.

I don't think many of us here would take Jacksonville over Handley. I think Handley is the better team. But like others have said, the power ratings are computer-generated. Sometimes it's hard to explain the results the computers spit out. Like in 1A, Georgiana is shown as a 3 point favorite over undefeated defending champions Leroy, yet I doubt anyone expects Georgiana to win that game.

I?ve seen Bibb County twice this year as my nephew is the band director there (not bad for a 22 year old) and that could be the best game of the week in 4A. Bibb has a slick QB who is a real dual threat who roasted MA last week on the ground but he can also sling it but I do know J?ville will give them everything and then some as they stomped a good Bayside team last week.

Bibb County is a good football team.
Seems early in the season they were getting it figured out and the last half of season they have been dominant.

To be fair their schedule was very top loaded, after going to Andalusia their schedule was all the weak region teams. I just had surgery, if not I probably would be going tomorrow night as it should be a good one
