 2016 Preview 


       With their 4-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 2A region 3, the Eagles earned a spot in the playoffs in 2015. Goshen's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Washington County by a score of 39-0.

       Since 2010, Goshen has gone a combined 36-31. Their 54.0% winning percentage ranks 20th in Class 2A over the past six seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Goshen has managed to compile a record of 148-124. Their 54.0% winning percentage ranks 17th in Class 2A and 142nd in the AHSAA.

       The Eagles are led by head coach Bart Snyder who is entering his seventh season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 44-35 over the past seven seasons at Goshen. Under his direction the Eagles have qualified for the playoffs a total of seven times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Snyder.

       Coach Snyder's overall record as a head football coach in seven seasons stands at 44-35 (55.7%). Over the course of his career, Coach Snyder's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of seven times .

      

      The Goshen Eagles will play in Class 2A region 3 during the 2016 season.

       The Eagles have a good chance to earn one of the playoff slots for Region 3 this season.

       The Eagles open the 2016 season at home against non-region opponent Ariton on Friday, August 26 at Goshen Field. Last year the Ariton Purple Cats finished with an overall record of 5-6 and in fourth place in Class 2A region 2. The Purple Cats lost in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs to Fayetteville by a score of 35-26.

       Goshen and Ariton have met a total of 27 times on the football field. The Eagles have a 10-17-0 record against the Purple Cats. They last met in 2019 with Goshen winning by a score of 21-7.
