2022 Preview | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Cottage Hill Christian finished the 2021 season with a disappointing 3-6 record. Last year Cottage Hill Christian finished seventh in Class 3A region one with a 0-6 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. Cottage Hill Christian took a step backwards last year with their first losing season since 2017. Cottage Hill Christian was inconsistent offensively last year and they need some improvement if the Warriors want to be competitive. They only averaged 16.0 points a game. Since 2010, Cottage Hill Christian has gone a combined 47-73. Their 39.2% winning percentage ranks 41st in Class 3A over the past twelve seasons. Over the past 21 seasons, Cottage Hill Christian has managed to compile a record of 82-127. Their 39.0% winning percentage ranks 46th in Class 3A and 302nd in the AHSAA. The Warriors are led by head coach Bobby Parrish who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 3-6 record in his first season at Cottage Hill Christian. The Warriors have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Parrish. Coach Parrish's overall record as a head football coach in fourteen season stands at 99-63 (61.1%). Over the course of his career, Coach Parrish's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of nine times and won three region championships. Coach Parrish can top the 100 win milestone early in the season with just one more victory. The Cottage Hill Christian Warriors will play in Class 3A region one during the 2022 season. Overall, the region is among the weakest in the state. Qualifying for one of the playoffs spots could be a little easier. It will be an uphill battle for the Warriors if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region one this season. The Warriors open the 2022 season on the road against non-region opponent Escambia County on Friday, August 19 at Hubert Barnes Field. Last year the Escambia County Blue Devils finished with an overall record of 2-8 and in sixth place in Class 4A region one. The Blue Devils closed out the regular season with a loss to Flomaton by a score of 42-0. Cottage Hill Christian and Escambia County have met a total of 2 times on the football field.
