New Brockton completed the 2021 season with a 4-6 record. Last year New Brockton finished sixth in Class 3A region two with a 1-5 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. Since 2010, New Brockton has gone a combined 62-65. Their 48.8% winning percentage ranks 32nd in Class 3A over the past twelve seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, New Brockton has managed to compile a record of 127-137. Their 48.0% winning percentage ranks 36th in Class 3A and 210th in the AHSAA. The Gamecocks are led by head coach Zack Holmes who is entering his fourth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 10-19 over the past three seasons at New Brockton. Under his direction the Gamecocks have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Holmes. Coach Holmes' overall record as a head football coach in five season stands at 16-32 (33.3%). Over the course of his career, Coach Holmes' teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of one time . The New Brockton Gamecocks will play in Class 3A region two during the 2022 season. Overall, the region is among the weakest in the state. Qualifying for one of the playoffs spots could be a little easier. With a little luck and some improvement, the Gamecocks could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region two this season. New Brockton missed the playoffs the past couple of seasons but hope to return to the post season in 2022. The Gamecocks open the 2022 season at home against non-region opponent Elba on Friday, August 19 at Gamecck Stadium. Last year the Elba Tigers finished with an overall record of 10-2 and in first place in Class 2A region two. The Tigers lost in the second round of the Class 2A playoffs to Highland Home by a score of 32-0. New Brockton and Elba have met a total of 16 times on the football field. The Gamecocks have a 1-15-0 record against the Tigers. They last met in 2017 with Elba winning by a score of 32-21. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
