Over the past two seasons the Bulldogs have Finished 22-4 and will be looking to continue that winning tradition. As one of the best football programs in the state since 2010, Brantley has gone a combined 134-32. Their 80.7% winning percentage ranks 2nd in Class 1A over the past thirteen seasons.

Over the past 25 seasons, Brantley has finished a combined 270-56. Their 83.0% winning percentage ranks 1st in Class 1A and 3rd in the AHSAA. The Bulldogs have been successful on the football field with twenty-four winning seasons during this time. Their last losing season was 2001.

The Bulldogs are led by head coach Roland Jones Jr. who is entering his sixth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 53-11 over the past five seasons at Brantley. Under his direction the Bulldogs have qualified for the playoffs a total of five times. They have won three region crowns with Coach Jones Jr.. His 136 wins rank 39th among active coaches in the AHSAA.        The Bulldogs can always be counted in when it comes to predicting state championship game teams. This season will be no different in Brantley. Look for another deep playoff run for the Bulldogs in 2023. The Bulldogs have one of the toughest overall schedules in Class 1A. Their opponents had a combined record of 56-52 last season. That ranks 6th in Class 1A and 156th in the AHSAA.

While most teams rebuild during the off season, Brantley has been a consistent winner the past few years and will simply reload this season. The Bulldogs enter the season with expectations of not only a region crown but will be contending for a trip to the state championship game. They are considered one the favorites in region two and should be a team in the thick of the hunt to represent the South in the Class 1A Super Seven come December. The Bulldogs have succeeded in reaching the playoffs every year since 1996 and this year should be no exception.

The Bulldogs open the 2023 season at home against non-region opponent Luverne on Friday, August 25 at Brantley Field. Last year the Luverne Tigers finished with an overall record of 6-5 and in third place in Class 2A region three.
