 2024 Preview 


       LaFayette finished the 2023 season with a disappointing 1-8 record. Last year LaFayette finished seventh in Class 2A region three with a 1-6 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.

       The Bulldogs lost as many games as in any season since 2014.

       The offense struggled putting points on the score board as LaFayette averaged scoring just 9.8 points a game.

       The Bulldogs would prefer to forget the past two seasons as they have finished with a 3-15 record. Since 2010, LaFayette has gone a combined 71-77. Their 48.0% winning percentage ranks 30th in Class 2A over the past fourteen seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, LaFayette has managed to compile a record of 128-135. Their 49.0% winning percentage ranks 29th in Class 2A and 207th in the AHSAA.

Head Coach:
       The Bulldogs are led by head coach Juan Williams who is entering his fifth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 15-24 over the past four seasons at LaFayette. Under his direction the Bulldogs have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Williams. Over the course of his career, Coach Williams' teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of five times and won one region championship.

Season Outlook:

       The LaFayette Bulldogs will play in Class 2A region four during the 2024 season. Following realignment, the Bulldogs remain in 2A but move from region three over to region four.

      

       This could be the last season for LaFayette and the Bulldogs. Can they go out on a winning note?

       Only two opponents on the Bulldog's 2024 schedule qualified for the playoffs last season. That alone may give them a shot at a better season this year.

    This season, the Bulldogs will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in region four.

Season Opener:
       The Bulldogs open the 2024 season on the road against non-region opponent Ellwood Christian on Friday, August 23 at Memorial Stadium.

       This will be the second meeting between LaFayette and Ellwood Christian on the football field. The Bulldogs have a 1-0-0 record against the Eagles. They last met in with

In 1925 Langdale tied a record by defeating Milltown 125-0. Hamilton had set the record by thrashing Fayette 125-0 in 1915.
