 2024 Preview

Ranburne completed the 2023 season with a 4-6 record. Last year Ranburne just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 2A region four with a 3-4 region record.

Since 2010, Ranburne has gone a combined 92-62. Their 59.7% winning percentage ranks 12th in Class 2A over the past fourteen seasons.

Over the past 25 seasons, Ranburne has managed to compile a record of 146-122. Their 54.0% winning percentage ranks 17th in Class 2A and 135th in the AHSAA.

Graduated All-State Players:
Ranburne lost 2A All-State  athlete Kaide Garrett to graduation. He was named to the second team last season.

Head Coach:
The Bulldogs are led by head coach Stephen Bailey who is entering his ninth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 45-42 over the past eight seasons at Ranburne. Under his direction the Bulldogs have qualified for the playoffs a total of four times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Bailey.

Season Outlook:

The Ranburne Bulldogs will play in Class 2A region four during the 2024 season.

The Bulldogs will be starting a new quarterback when the season opens and will also have a lot of positions to fill due to graduation. The strength may be the secondary where three starters return.

Ranburne has not reached the playoffs since 2021 but have a better shot this season with the realignment of region 4. Only two teams currently in the region qualified for the playoffs in 2023. That alone will give them a better chance.

The Bulldogs have a good shot at one of the last two playoff slots in region four this season. Ranburne missed the playoffs the past couple of seasons but hope to return to the post season this year.

Players to Watch in 2024:
New quarterback will be Creed Young starting according to the coaching staff. He will also start at linebacker. Ranburne will return 3 starters along the offensive line with Aiden Hanson and Zaden Benefield both being solid players.

The Bulldogs will have 3 of 4 back in the secondary, Kalon Smith, Crimson Champion will be two of the better ones there. No other linebacker returning. One returning along the defensive lineman.

A coach stated that ''We graduated 14, so it'll be a big job to get these guys going.''

Returning Starters:
QB/FS Drew Davenport, RB Curtis Daniel, RB/MLB Brody Morgan, RB Logan Crook, WR/DB Kalon Smith, FS/WR Jacob Alewine, DT/T Aiden Hanson

Season Opener:
The Bulldogs open the 2024 season on a neutral field against non-region opponent Mt. Zion GA on Friday, August 23 at .

This will be the second meeting between Ranburne and Mt. Zion GA on the football field. The Bulldogs have a 0-1-0 record against Mt. Zion GA. They last met in with
