 2024 Preview 


       Priceville completed the 2023 season with a 5-7 record. With their 4-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 4A region eight, the Bulldogs earned a spot in the playoffs in 2023. Priceville reached the second round of the playoffs before falling to Brooks by a score of 70-42.

       Priceville took a step backwards last year with their first losing season since 2018. The Bulldogs hope to rebound after a down year. Last season they struggled winning just five games which followed a 11-1 record in 2022.

       Since 2010, Priceville has gone a combined 65-84. Their 43.6% winning percentage ranks 34th in Class 5A over the past fourteen seasons.

       Over the past 22 seasons, Priceville has managed to compile a record of 94-129. Their 42.0% winning percentage ranks 40th in Class 5A and 264th in the AHSAA.

Graduated All-State Players:
       Priceville lost 4A All-State  punter Ryan Hanks to graduation. He was named to the second team last season. Also graduating was teammate running back Blitz Clemons.

Coaching Change:
     Chris Foster  leaves Priceville after five seasons with an impressive 40-18 record. He took the team to four playoff appearances winning a playoff game each time. Coach Foster turned around a struggling football program winning eight games his first season in Priceville.

His 40 victories are the most by a head coach at Priceville and his four playoff wins are the only ones in school history.

2024 Head Coach:
    Seth Parker  was the offensive coordinator at Bob Jones the past three seasons. Parker replaces Chris Foster, who went 40-18 in five years at the school. Prior to that, he was the wide receivers coach for the Patriots and also spent one year at Athens.

Season Outlook:

       The Priceville Bulldogs will play in Class 5A region seven during the 2024 season. The Bulldogs move up in classification to Class 5A. They may find the going slightly tougher with the move.

      

       Chris Foster led the Bulldogs to the best five season run in program history but he is off to Brookwood now and they will rely on the leadership of head coach Seth Parker in the near future to direct the football team.

       Priceville has made the playoffs the past three seasons and four out of the past five which is also something the school had never done previously. So keeping the winning ways going will be top priority as the season approaches.

       The Bulldogs return five starters to the offense from last season and another five on defense. The coaching staff will be counting on a few newcomers to contribute during the season also. Priceville will be moving away from the single wing offense in 2024 but Coach Parker still wants to install a run first offense this fall.

       Coach Parker said this about this year's team. ''We're excited to face the challenge of moving up a classification from 4A to 5A. This year brings a lot of new to Priceville Football with a new staff and a new region, but our goal is to continue the winning traditions that Priceville Football has established over the last 4 or 5 seasons. With plenty of young faces cracking the starting lineup and having major roles for our team, we'll be turning to our senior leadership in the form of Brody Collins, Tyde Borden, JT Miller, & others to carry us through 5A Region 7.''

    The Bulldogs have a good shot at one of the last two playoff slots in region seven this season.

Players to Watch in 2024:
      DB Tyde Borden collected 114 tackles (63 solo) including one sack and will be back for his senior season.

NEWCOMERS: Bronson Carroll (11th RB), Jack Eubanks (10th DB), Casen Drawbaugh (10th WR)

Season Opener:
       The Bulldogs open the 2024 season on the road against non-region opponent Columbia on Thursday, August 22 at Milton Frank Stadium. Last year the Columbia Eagles finished with an overall record of 0-10 and in sixth place in Class 6A region seven.

       Priceville and Columbia have met a total of 5 times on the football field. The Bulldogs have a 3-2-0 record against the Eagles. They last met in 2009 with Columbia winning by a score of 44-0.
